HGG’s new MPC 450 2.0 multiprofile cutting machine combines three cutting actions into one piece of equipment. The 3D machine can be configured to cut a variety of profiles, including pipes, box sections, angle bars, and flat sheet metal strips. Its capabilities are multiplied with the incorporation of the manufacturer’s ProCAM software and a laser scanner.
Users can configure the equipment to cut pipes, positioning material on pipe supports and clamping it in three chuck jaws; box sections, positioning material on pipe supports in rotators and then clamping it in two diagonally opposite jaws of the chuck; or profiles from bar flat stock, positioning and individually fixing material on a flat cutting table.
The machine is designed for 3D production automation as an integral part of the manufacturing process, from design and work preparation to cutting and the fitting and welding of parts. It is programmed using the manufacturer’s MDI or ProCAD software, which converts CAD files into ready-to-cut formats. ProGRAM software provides a direct link from independent workstations to the cutting machine, providing basic programming of end cuts to complete part design and programming of all profile cuts, even complex structures.
A new 360-degree optical laser scanner can detect any material section distortion in advance to help increase accuracy.
